For some reason Watermelon and feta just go together so very well! It’s the most refreshing and delicious taste. So, whilst you might still be able to catch some in season watermelons in the supermarket, grab one and have a go at this delicious and slightly quirky recipe from The Devilled Egg.
A word from Barbora Stiess:
Feta and watermelon is a brilliant flavour combination. The saltiness of the cheese brings out the sweetness in the melon. We have also added lavender for itโs floral notes to round out the flavours in this salad.

Serves 4
Takes under 10 minutes to prepare plus marinating time
Flesh of 1 small watermelon, cut into chunks
1 heaped teaspoon of dried lavender buds
1 tablespoon of rapeseed oil
1 punnet of blueberries
1 block of feta

- For the dressing, combine 3 tablespoons of rapeseed oil, 1 tablespoon of cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon of soya sauce (or tamari, whet free alternative) and a pinch of salt
- Place the watermelon into a bowl and mix with the lavender and oil, leave to marinate over night
- Combine all the ingredients (reserving a few pinches as a decoration) in a bowl and drizzle with the dressing and decorate with the leftover herbs
