It’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow. SO I took to my kitchen this weekend to get cooking and making some fun, delicious and healthy treat ideas to share with your loved ones this Valentine’s Day.
I’m certainly no chef, but I love the idea of putting healthy twists on all our favourite dishes such as pancakes, salads and desserts! I also love to try and show how healthier foods CAN be delicious as well as nutritious.
Traditionally Valentine’s Day is ALL about the chocolate. And I’m certainly not one to put a stop to that (I love chocolate!), I’m just going to share some of my favourite – heart shaped – ideas for you to try out with your Valentine this Valentine’s Day!
Valentine’s Day Breakfast ideas!
First up is BREAKFAST! There are so many ideas to make Valentine’s Day Breakfast more romantic (think candle lit breakfast before work or a romantic breakfast surrounded by your partner’s favourite flowers). Additionally, you can get many egg shaping tools to turn your poached eggs into hearts or one like this sun and cloud, which I’m yet to use but still LOVE.
Breakfast bowls are also a favourite of mine, which you’ll know if you’ve checked out my instagram. And it’s so easy to make them beautiful with some colourful fruits, nuts, seeds and berries. Or you could try styling up your Ovenight Oats Recipe with some strawberries or blueberries shaped into a heart. So easy. So sweet.
However, pancakes are definitely the ideal Valentine’s Day breakfast in my opinion, and it’s so easy to make these special. Check out a couple of my ideas for doing this below:
Healthy ideas for Valentine’s Day:
If you’re not spending the day together and your other half is heading to work or school, why not pack your partner off with a lunch box of all their favourite foods alongside a little note for them to read at lunchtime. Also, edible flowers are really popular at the moment, so why not throw a few of them in to finish off the lunch!
For your Valentine’s Day evening, I have tonnes of delicious food ideas and have displayed most of them in the photos below.

I always halve the sugar in recipes like this as it just doesn’t need it. I also tend to up the number of bananas used and use them when they are completely brown!
I love chocolate cornflake cakes but I always make mine with branflakes which have a little more fibre and I usually halve the honey in the recipe and, although I was out of these, I normally sprinkle with sesame seeds too.
I also attempted these with natural yogurt, which worked and were delicious but didn’t come out so well on camera!
So there are my ideas for delicious, healthier Valentine’s Day food inspo. Do send me any pics of your recreations and have a wonderful Valentine’s Day tomorrow.
