So On Trend
I recently attended an event all about plant-based eating and nutrition. It was hosted by Alpro and their aim was to really show how “plant-based eating” doesn’t have to mean just salads and smoothies.
The event was incredible, genuinely one of the best I’ve been too. With beautiful tables laid out amongst huge platters of fruit and veg.
The event kicked off with some plant-based cocktails, including beetroot, kale and flower filled options, which were presented in such a beautiful way. Cocktail time was also a time for networking and there were a number of bloggers, vloggers and journalists there who were fascinating to talk too.
Vegan BOSH!
The drinks were followed by a three course dinner which was cooked and served by BOSH! Which is a vegan food brand whose slogan is “Simple Recipes, Amazing Food, All Plants”. They didn’t disappoint. Starter, main and pudding were all incredible and again, their aim was to provide foods that weren’t necessarily stereotypically “vegan”. See my photos of the dinner, which included bangers and mash (vegan style) and a rhubarb and cherry bakewell that was the best I’ve ever had! Please click on the images to enlarge them.
The evening really did inspire me to talk more about plant-based eating, and to help people to understand that this doesn’t have to mean going completely vegan or eating as much salad as you can manage.
BOSH! Vegan Cooking
Part of the event was in aid of the fact that BOSH! Have just launched a recipe book which I have now bought, and will let you know how I get on with some of their recipes. Henry & Ian (BOSH! owners) were obviously chefs and so I’m wondering if it’s as easy as they made it seem to create such complicated vegan dishes. Watch this space.
As a result of attending this event, I wrote an article for Harper’s Bazaar on what following a “plant-based diet” actually means.

Disclaimer
Just as a disclaimer, I was invited to the Alpro event as a guest and wasn’t paid to attend this Plant-Based Eating event. I also wasn’t paid to write this post and I bought the BOSH! book with my own money. Just in case you were wondering…
