I was recently very lucky to do some filming for the BBC Food channel, to create three short videos for their website on a variety of nutrition topics.
The aim of the videos was to try and bust food and nutrition myths and help get to the bottom of certain nutrition topics that we often hear about in the media.
The topics I covered during the BBC Food filming included:
Packed lunches – How to make a healthier packed lunch
Protein – Should I Eat More Protein at Breakfast
Carbohydrates – How to eat carbs and stay healthy
A good friend of mine and colleague Priya Tew also filmed her own videos for the series too and these were mainly on a variety of child and family nutrition topics.
I have previously written about the protein video I did for the BBC and you can read more about that and see the video for this here:
However, I also filmed a really exciting video entitled “How can you make a healthier packed lunch?” Something that I found fascinating was that research from the BBC showed that around 1/3 of people in Britain say they eat the same thing for lunch every single day! I found this quite shocking, as we all know that variety is just SO important if we are looking for a healthy diet.
I have written on my blog before about packed lunch ideas and also healthy lunch ideas to help people get some inspiration to improve the variety that they are having at lunchtimes. So do check those out. But if you’re interested I also share a really simple, balanced salad recipe in the video below, which is based on ingredients you can pick up anywhere and a recipe that you can easily eat at your desk – What more could you ask for for lunch?
Check out my video all about creating a healthier packed lunch and do let me know how you find it.

Filming for BBC Food
I absolutely loved filming for BBC Food and am loving becoming a bit of a regular with the BBC – online and on TV too. I really do particularly love these sets of videos though as I think they are so light and refreshing and I really enjoyed the whole research/filming and editing process of these too. Do take a look and let me know if you like them.
