This chilling video is the latest in a campaign to try and fight the obesity epidemic.
It rewinds through the life of an obese man on the operating table to show how his behaviours around food and eating became established. For me I think this is really telling, as for many children and adults, eating behaviours and patterns are started from a very young age.
Stages of feeding such as introducing solids and going through fussy eating phases can be tough and challenging times. Parents get little to no support at this time of their babies lives and may often make the wrong decisions around how to deal with their child’s eating.
Once less healthy behaviours become established, or even preferred by babies and children, they are then very hard to get out of. This can lead to a lifetime of unhealthy eating.
The answer? Parents need more support during stages of pregnancy and the beginning of their child’s life to help them make the right decisions when it comes to the future health of their children.
