I’m so…so…so…so excited to share that I have written a new book!
“How to Feed Your Toddler – Everything you need to know to raise happy, independent little eaters”
I wrote my first book How To Wean Your Baby after having it planned for YEARS in my head, knowing I wanted to write a weaning book with a bit of a difference. I had dreams of writing more, but never in a million years believed it would actually happen, which is why I’m so thrilled (and also a little overwhelmed) to announce that I have written another book which will be out in September.
This book is something of a work of art for me. A perfect follow on to How to Wean Your Baby, my next book is called How to Feed Your Toddler and is literally…what it says on the tin.
I realised after writing How to Wean Your Baby that although many people need a bit of a handheld guide through their weaning journey, that toddlerhood is really a whole different ballgame. I started to realise how little there was in the way of specific, clear advice on this next stage in feeding little ones and knew I could write a book that would answer all of parents’ questions on the next step of feeding – toddlerhood!
And that’s how ‘How To Feed your Toddler’ came about!
A Nutritionist’s Guide to Feeding Toddlers
How to Feed Your Toddler is a REALLY deep dive into feeding children from12 months right through to pre-school age. A literal “How To” book, which supports parents with practical advice and ideas through all of the ups and downs that come with feeding toddlers through these early years.
That’s where this book comes in. It’s a fully comprehensive guide to tackling all of this, helping you to learn tricks, tools and offering advice and support (based on research, my work with thousands of parents and my own in-practise experience) around areas of toddler nutrition such as fussy eating, food language, food at nursery, tackling food labels, healthy snacking, navigating sugar intakes, and so much more.
Quick, Easy and Healthy Recipes for Toddler
On top of this, the book contains some of the best recipes I’ve ever invented. I’m SO proud of the recipe section in this book. It’s got meals and snacks for every occasion (and dietary requirements) that are colourful, exciting, and easy to make – whilst also being perfect for the whole family. I focused on creating recipes that are nutritionally balanced, helping to expose your little ones to plenty of variety and, as always, helping you to keep adding little extras into your children’s meals. I’ve been making them for my own family daily and so I just know they’ll be a hit with yours too!
This book has been a real labour of love to write. I went right back to the beginning with How to Feed Your Toddler: attending courses and speaking to the top professionals in my field (and across other fields too) to ensure that I was capturing the latest research and advice. So much has changed, and a lot of research around feeding children comes back to psychology, so I involved child psychologists in the research, editing, and writing process of this book. It’s a fascinating area and I learnt SO much and I’ve put it all down in the pages of my new book for you to read in an easy and digestible way, just like I did with How to Wean Your Baby.
I seriously can’t wait for you to read this. I LOVE it, everything about it, and I really think it’ll be a tool to help so many parents feel confident and supported through what can be a super tricky time: feeding kids in those early years!
“Starting at 12 months, and taking you right through to pre-school age, How to Feed Your Toddler brings together Charlotte’s trademark approach of evidence-based advice, nurturing support and practical problem-solving to give you the confidence to help your toddler develop a positive relationship with food…this is your essential guide to avoiding the fussy eating trap and bringing up adventurous little eaters who love a wide variety of food.”
How to Feed Your Toddler launches on the 29th September and is available to order now.
