I’m always looking for a little inspiration to add some variety to our morning breakfast, especially in the summer months. This recipe for an easy breakfast smoothie is a perfect way to change up your family breakfasts, with something for everyone to enjoy. It’s a great way to add some colour to your mornings, as well as mixing up some different nutrients and flavours which your little one may not usually be keen on.
Smoothies are also a great way of keeping little ones hydrated, when they may not be great at drinking water in the warm weather!
This recipe is for a base mix which is either delicious plain or can be varied with the addition of either berries or baby spinach. You can use whatever kind of milk you prefer.
Thank you to Emily Kerrigan for this wonderful recipe, which is adapted from her new book, The Gluten Free Kitchen, which is filled with delicious Gluten Free recipes and is available to buy now.
Ingredients
Makes 1
- 250ml milk
- 1 tbsp oats
- ½ a banana
- 1 tbsp peanut butter
- a pinch of cinnamon
- + either:
- a handful of baby spinach leaves
- or
- a handful each of blueberries and raspberries
Method
