I know how important it is for parents to have quick and easy baby puree options. Something simple to prepare, with minimal effort and no cooking, that’s perfect for taking out and about. And of course, we all want these meals to be nutritious, balanced, and baby-friendly too!
It might seem like a big challenge to tick all these boxes, but don’t worry, I’ve done the hard work for you! Here are Twelve no-cook, minimal prep baby puree recipes that are both convenient and packed with goodness. I hope they make mealtimes just that little bit easier for you and your little one. Enjoy!

Before we delve in the recipes. Here are some of the main ingredients I like to make these recipes with because they are really easy to take on the go.
Easy ingredients for on the go
- Avocado
- Banana
- Tinned (no added salt) Beans
- Tinned fish
- Tofu
- Hard boiled eggs
- Yoghurt
- Oats
- Nut butters such as smooth peanut butter
- Soft fruits like berries and plums that are easy to mash
Here are some simple food combinations that really work and are easy to take out and about for babies. Also you can adjust the texture according to your babies age. So starting with pureed or mashed at 6 months and moving through the textures to minced and chopped.
Don’t forget to take ice packs, baby spoons and plates and also a fork for any mashing!

12 simple no cook puree recipes
1. Natural/Plain yoghurt with mashed raspberries and a teaspoon of milled seeds
Simply stir a few dollops of yogurt with some mashed up raspberries and sprinkle some milled seeds in for added iron, protein and fibre.
2. Avocado, banana and a teaspoon of peanut butter
Take a whole avo and banana out with you along with a pot with a little peanut butter dollop in. Mix it all together when you’re out and about.
3. Hardboiled egg with diced tomatoes and olive oil
A little prep to boil the egg, take it with you and mash it in a bowl on the go. Throw in so,e well chopped tomatoes which have been drizzled in some extra virgin olive oil.
4. Hummus with finely grated cucumber stirred in and bread fingers
Make your own hummus or a little shop bought is also fine. Grate cucumber in to add some textures and veggies and offer with some veggie sticks or bread fingers.
5. Couscous with mashed chickpeas and avocado
Might want to mash or blend the chickpeas before you go. Then take out with some couscous (takes 5 mins to “cook” with just boiled water poured over the top) and mash the avocado to stir in when on the go!
6. Yogurt, oats and mashed banana with milled seeds
So simple, adds extra textures and energy and the milled seeds add lots of extra minerals.
7. Chia seed pudding (chia seeds and milk left overnight) with well chopped orange
This is a take on chia seed pudding. Mix orange mashed up with some milk and a teaspoon or two of chia seeds and leave in the fridge overnight for a on the go option in the morning. Use a thermo flask to keep it cool or take it with an ice pack and a spoon! Try ½ cup of milk of choice, 1 tbsp chia seeds, ½ a chopped up orange flesh
8. Lentils or precooked quinoa, and well chopped spinach with mashed pear
Sauté the spinach if time and then blend or chop well (alternatively just chop it really well or give it a little blend raw. Mix with lentils or quinoa and then mash in a pear for extra fibre, vitamin C and flavours
9. Oats, nut butter, grated carrot or apple and a pinch of cinnamon (make into energy balls)
Offer this as an oatie mix (and add to yogurt) or roll into balls and use as energy balls on the go. Try with ½ cup rolled oats, 1 tbsp nut butter, ½ a grated apple or carrot, pinch of cinnamon
10. Tofu, blueberries and flaxseeds
Take some calcium set tofu and mash it up well with some blueberries – add some flaxseeds or nut butter for extra fats and extra flavours.
11. White beans mashed or blended with peas and couscous
Add beans ad peas to a blender for a few seconds and then stir them into some couscous! Add some yogurt or avocado to loosen a little.
12. Tofu, avocado and peanut butter
Blend or mash tofu and avocado and stir in some nut butter
