I’m often asked for healthy breakfast recipes for toddlers and this is toddler-friendly granola is one of my favourites, from my book How to Feed your Toddler. Shop-bought granolas can often be high in sugar or contain whole nuts, which aren’t suitable for toddlers, so this homemade version is a great alternative.
It’s super simple to make, with minimal prep and no added sugar, and tastes delicious just as it is. I love how versatile it is too – you can serve it with yoghurt (or plant-based yoghurt) and fruit or it works well sprinkled over porridge, cereals or pancakes.
Once made, it keeps well in an airtight container for a few weeks, making it perfect for preparing ahead and dipping into as needed. You can also easily adapt it by swapping the fruit, spices or toppings depending on what you have at home.
N.B. Suitable for little ones who are used to a bit more texture and a little (soft) crunch in their foods.
