I can’t believe another year is over, and even more so, that I now have a 2.5 and a 5.5 year old. It’s such a cliché to say that “life goes quickly when you have kids” but it’s also SO true. It whizzes by and I still remember so strongly that first few months with Ada as a baby. Mad that she’s now a stomping, singing little toddler.
This year has been such a busy one – I always think I’ll have quieter years soon, but at the moment so much is happening behind the scenes at SR Nutrition HQ and it’s all super exciting.

Firstly, I have to thank my incredible little team – Kat Martinez-Thomas, I could not do what I do without you, you help me every day, more than you know & I’m so grateful to have you on board!!! And Chrissie you’re such a help to me and help take on some of the toughest part of my job – I truly believe SR Nutrition would look different today without all of your help – Thank you.
We’ve also welcomed Emily from Nutritious Family Food who is going to be helping with a lot of recipe and blog creations for our team and I’m super excited – she’s a Leith’s trained chef and is now an Associate Nutritionist too, so she knows what she’s doing and I can’t wait to see some more of her creations.
A huge thank you as well to my wonderful website team at Sokada for everything you do! It’s a pleasure to work with you and I’m so grateful for all of your hard work this year!

So back to 2022…
What happened?
I launched my book!
Well, the biggest thing to say is that I launched my SECOND book – How To Feed Your Toddler, which was SUCH an incredible project for me to work on. I’m so proud of this book – it took a huge amount of research and it’s such a great visual and easy to read tool for so many parents. It’s 50% nutrition advice on the challenges around feeding toddlers and also 50% recipes and I love how much you guys are loving these recipes too. Most of them are daily staples in our house, and I’m so thrilled they are for you too!
I got Sunday Times Bestseller…for the second time
My book was also an INSTANT Sunday times bestseller too, which is SO incredible nd very much unexpected. I was listed in the lifestyles section with names such as Jamie Oliver, Mary Berry, Stacey Soloman and then little old me!!! Absolutely honoured and so grateful to everyone who bought a copy of my book – It’s meant the world.
I launched my online weaning course
I’d been working on my brand new online weaning course for 3 years – pretty much since the Covid days of lockdown, where I sat down and wrote the whole script out, word for word. I then spent 3 years getting it right and making sure it was the best it could be. We have some exciting extra sections and bits to add to the course content coming in Jan 2023, so if you’ve bought it or are about to, watch this space for MORE helpful information.
Top title media spreads
I was featured heavily across the media this year – more so than I have been for a while, which is exciting. Largely The Sun, The Daily Mail, The Evening Standard – and many other huge, mainstream papers. It’s really been a big year press wise and I’ve worked with some amazing teams such as Mother & Baby, Tescos and Waitrose too.
I rolled out my newsletter
I really focused this year on building my newsletter too. I love writing and sending these out each month and I make sure they are packed with relevant, supportive content about feeding kids AS WELL as lots of recipes that are seasonal and delicious and perfect for kids. I hope you enjoy the newsletter yourselves and if you’re not signed up yet – give it a go here – especially as in the new year I’ll be announcing two BIG new projects I’m working on!

I continued to build my free, educational content
My SR Nutrition blog, as well as my Instagram page really is the bread and butter of what I do. It’s really important to me to share simple, practical and helpful advice to AS MANY families as possible. This year I’ve continued to build on the huge amount of content available to parents and carers, including free factsheets, recipes, infographics and video content covering a huge range of topics related to feeding babies and young children. I’ve also partnered with some fab professionals including psychologists, behaviour specialist and allergy professionals for regular Instagram live videos. I really hope you’ve continued to find this content helpful this year!
My own CPD
This year I really went to town on my own Continued Professional Development. I attended MANY Nutriweb webinars “after hours” and also conferences with Dairy UK, the BNF and many others. I also signed up for a Winchester University course on ARFID (which is an eating disorder – essentially extreme levels of fussy eating), which I will write a little more about soon. I’ve learnt so much and I always ensure that I’m keeping up to date with my own field and learning as I work. I don’t think I’ll ever stop learning about the job that I do!
Sell out webinars
I continued to deliver my weaning and fussy eating webinars this year, and delivered around 11 Fussy Eating Webinars to date throughout the year. I really enjoy running these and will ABSOLUTELY be doing live ones again in the new year. In the meantime, you can watch a recording of one of my webinars for a reduced price. But do keep an eye on my WEBINARS page for more info.
So….that’s all the main highlights for this year. What an exciting year. I’ve got a couple of REALLY exciting announcements to make in 2023 – one in Feb and one in March…so do join my newsletter and look out for those popping into your inbox in the next few months!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that 2023 is bigger, better and more RELAXED than any other years for you all. Thank you for following along and thank you for being part of the journey for me and my little business as The Baby & Child Nutritionist.
